Innovative R&D projects at Polcoat
As part of the Smart Growth Operational Program 2014-2020, Polcoat implemented a research and development project entitled “Development of paper coating technology with modified anti-adhesive and hydrophobic compositions with low tolerance of coating weight distribution and their selective application” (application no.: POIR.01,01,01-00-0622/19). The aim of the project was to develop and implement innovative technologies for the production of self-adhesive papers and coated films, which are distinguished by their exceptional quality and reliability.
Development of Polcoat’s offer: new products and technologies
The completion of research and development work allowed Polcoat to implement new technologies into our business activities, thanks to which we started the production of improved self-adhesive papers and coated films. The production process is based on innovative coating technology, using a coating head and an application line using UV light.
As a result of this development, we have introduced new products to our offer, including:
- Linerless – self-adhesive paper without a backing,
- Gloss self-adhesive paper – with a high-gloss coating,
- Matt self-adhesive paper – with a matte coating,
- Self-adhesive paper semi-gloss – with a semi-matt coating,
- Termo top coat – coated paper resistant to high temperatures.
Key features of new Polcoat products
The newly developed products are characterized by numerous innovations that significantly improve their quality and functionality. The most important advantages of the new technology include:
- Low tolerance of the distribution of the grammage of anti-adhesive coatings, which ensures uniform quality of the produced materials,
- Selective application of hydrophobic and anti-adhesive coatings, which improve the functional properties of the products,
- Reduced silicone absorption by paper, which increases the durability of the materials,
- Refinement of the thermal paper coating, which increases the quality of products intended for high-temperature printing.
Thanks to these innovations, our products have become more reliable and user-friendly, and also perfectly respond to the growing requirements of the self-adhesive materials market.
